Ladies and gentlemen, you have just witnessed history.
Justin Bieber and his new album My World 2.0 debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 albums chart. The album sold over 283,000 copies in its first week and consequently made Justin the youngest solo male artist to reach No. 1 on the Billboard 200 since August 24, 1963.
…Yes, 47 years…
Steve Wonder, the then 13-year-old, was the last individual to top what Justin did as a solo artist at that age. For pop cultural references, he did it with the album Little Stevie Wonder/12 Year Old Genius.
Justin surpassed his previous high of 157,000 copies sold for his initial album, My World.
In other words, not bad for a 16-year-old.
