Aside from publicly stating that she doesn’t plan to follow close friend and personal mentor Miley Cyrus with an edgier sound on the new album, Demi Lovato has been rather “hush hush” about the project.
That is until Demi talked with AHN. Demi told the publication that thus far the album is a little more pop, little more R&B and that Rihanna and Keri Hilson have been direct influences.
“The new album so far it’s a little more pop, it’s more R&B,” Demi explained. ”It’s a little more soulful. It has a different sound to it so I’m really excited to see how it turns out…I feel like I’m going to be…incorporating rock and R&B.”
When asked who she would like to collaborate with on the new album, Demi responded that she “would love, love, love to collaborate with Trey Songz.”
Time, it would seem, is also something that Demi is taking very seriously. “It’s something (the album) I want to focus on and really pour myself into it,” she added. ”I don’t want to rush it out. I definitely feel like I’m proud of everything I put out there.”
