Tequan Richmond was born and raised in North Carolina, but at a young age he had a desire to get into showbiz and the rest, you could say, is history.
Upon moving to Los Angeles, Tequan quickly found work in television and by 2005 he was starring as Chris Rock’s little, big brother Drew Rock on Everybody Hates Chris.
Since working on the top rated sitcom for over 100 episodes, Tequan has also appeared on Private Practice, Detroit 1-8-7, Weeds and this June can be seen on TNT’s hit series, Memphis Beat (starring Jason Lee).
Tequan, who had just returned from New Orleans where he was shooting the show, informed TeenChive that the weather was hot, but the food as good as always.
He remarked about the fantastic New Orleans cuisine, “I was eating my face off. Every day down there, I had like three to four meals. It was so good.”
2011 should be a great year for Tequan as not only does he have the aforementioned TV appearances, but is also gaining some big momentum in the music world under the stage name T-Rich.
Tequan first started experimenting with music at age 13 more as an hobby, but has been making a serious attempt to define it as a career this past year.
T-Rich has a natural flow and energy as a rapper and cites Pharrell Williams, Kanye West and Coldplay as major influences.
“It’s rapping, but sometimes I can get really far, all the way to the other end…to other genres,” he explained. ”It’s music. That’s what music is supposed to be like.”
