On Sunday, the Jonas Brothers joined more than 200 guests at the home of Danny DeVito and Rhea Perlman. And what, you may ask, was the cause of such a large gathering? The annual Rock For Diabetes, an event designed to help raise funds for the Center for Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism at Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles.
The Jonas Brothers were among the acts that performed a special show for the attendees. After it was all said and done, the event would raise more than $250,000 for the Center.
The cause was especially dear for Nick, an individual who battles with diabetes himself. Francine Kaufman, MD, of Children’s Hospital LA said, “Nick’s willingness to be so public has made people around the world feel differently about diabetes. It was thrilling to see the smiles on the children’s faces as the Jonas Brothers sang and when Nick talked about his own diabetes. Nick’s willingness to be so public has made people around the world feel differently about diabetes.”
Nick added, “We’re excited to be back here at the home of Danny DeVito and Rhea Perlman this year. Speaking as a person who lives day to day with diabetes, anything we can do to help raise money and awareness to fight this condition, is truly important to us.”
Congrats on the $250k!
