It’s a queen’s world after all.
The 2010 Video Music Awards were dominated, as predicted, by two individuals as different as the sun and the moon. Lady Gaga ran the table at MTV’s annual award show, while newcomer Justin Bieber proved he is here to stay.
Hosted at the Nokia Theater in Los Angeles, Lady G swept the night with eight of the 13 awards for which she was nominated, including “Best Female Video”, “Best Pop Video” and “Video of the Year”. Meanwhile, Justin Bieber nabbed a key victory for the only award in which he was nominated, “Best New Artist”.
Other highlights of the show included a fantastic performance from Taylor Swift, Usher’s killer show, an amazing set design as well as appearances from Ashley Greene, Selena Gomez and Emma Stone.
…Oh yeah, and Kanye West managed to stay off the stage. Well, sort of.
