Although Justin Bieber, 17, is being stalked by paparazzi every day and has 10.8 million Twitter followers, not too many people are interested in buying a magazine with him on the cover.
JB was featured on the cover of the February edition of Vanity Fair, and was covered in lipstick kisses. The magazine thought having Justin on the cover would boost sales, but they were sadly mistaken. The February 2011 issue is on pace to become the worst selling Vanity Fair magazine in 12 years. Coincidentally Teen Vogue and People have experienced a drop in magazine sales when JB graced the cover.
A Vanity Fair spokesperson said:
Who knew 12-year-olds didn’t buy magazines?
I couldn’t told the magazine that nobody under the age of 21 buys magazines, or newspapers for that matter. Young people prefer to read about juicy gossip online, and more specifically on Teen Chive.
