Last week, TeenChive introduced Thomas Fiss’ new, self-titled EP. During our discussion with Thomas, we also were able to talk about a few things not necessary related to music.
Fiss, who spent the summer touring on Campified told us about the terrific experience.
“It was honestly amazing to just go out to these camps and play a show for these kids,” he said. ”Like these camps are literally in the middle of nowhere, so for us to go out there and set-up a stage and full backlines, amps, the whole nine and just rock out for these kids it was really a fun experience.”
In the event that you’ve never heard of Campified, the tour is designed not only to provide musical performances but also a full-day of interaction between the musicians and the children at the camps. Thomas explained that a typical day on Campified was “all day”. Activities ranged from playing basketball to designing homemade t-shirts.
“I always wanted a little brother or little sister so to go out there and hang out with these kids was really fun,” he added.
Thomas, who first started in showbiz performing on Broadway has found a common theme between both acting and performing music live.
”I think putting on a live show is the most important thing an artist can do. That’s when you’re truly exposed to everybody. Like being on a stage, in front of a camera, you have to be on your “A” game. You have to be prepared…There is a lot of things on the table that I think a lot of people do not know. And I think that’s good they do not know that because it adds to the performance aspect. It makes it that much more…magical, I guess, for a lack of a better term.”
Last but not least Fiss updated us on his Addison Apparel clothing line.
“We’re actually working on a new winter line right now, so keep an eye out for that. It’s really cool to just walk down the street and see a girl wearing it. It’s pretty much the coolest thing in the world actually.”
