We all love music but it’s pretty safe to say that a teen from the United Kingdom went a little overboard when he stole his parents’ credit cards and proceeded to purchase an estimated $750,000 in music on both Amazon and iTunes.
According to JSYK, 19 year-old Lamar Johnson has plead guilty to one count of conspiracy to defraud for using stolen credit cards. Additionally, 12 people were arrested in conjunction with the scheme, which occurred between January 2008 and June 2009.
Beyond using the stolen credit cards, Johnson and his group also stole royalties that generally goes to the artist that created the music.
They are expected to serve many, many years behind bars.
What do you think about this story? Is stealing music really worth it?
