Willow Smith is all about individuality, something that she clearly demonstrates in both her personal style and music. She is also hoping that what she does will inspire other teenagers to just be themselves.
Willow told MTV News, “‘Whip My Hair’ means don’t be afraid to be yourself, and don’t let anybody tell you that that’s wrong. Because the best thing is you.”
The rising star added that her talented dance group (as seen in the “Whip My Hair” video) is something that her famous mother, Jada Pinkett Smith helped develop.
“Me and my mom first came up with Willowettes, and then we came up with Warriorettes,” she explained. ”It takes a warrior to stand up for themselves and not let anybody tell them that what they’re wearing or what they’re saying or what they’re doing is wrong.”
So cool. Willow really sounds like an amazing role model for teens.
